The Contract is for the entire academic year and is accessible through MyMercer

  • Logon to MyMercer
  • Select Atlanta Housing
  • Click on appropriate campus
  • Select the appropriate contract

One-bedroom units are avaiable for 2017 spring.

When can I move in for the academic year?

If you are scheduled to reside in a one-bedroom unit, due to cleaning and maintenance, spaces are slated to be ready no later than 5th workday of the month of August. Please confirm a move in date with the Residence Life office before your arrival.

Two and Four-bedroom University Apartments will usually open @10 am, the Saturday before White Coat Ceremonies, however you must move in before classes start. Apartments not claimed by the first day of class may be reassigned. Opening Day Saturday, August 13, 2016.  Students entering in the spring may move in starting @ 10 am, January 3rd.

(It is possible to move in early in many cases, contact Residence Life; fees may apply and will be posted in the summer semester, which may result in an out-of-pocket cost)

Is there a payment plan for Housing fees?

Yes. You can enroll in the Mercer University Payment Plan with the Bursar’s office (678.547.6121), please contact them directly. In addition, financial aid can be used to cover housing costs.

How do I cancel my contract?

The deadline to cancel without acquiring a penalty for a renewed contract for returning residents is May 1st. The deadline to cancel a contract for incoming students is June 1st, incoming for spring November 1st. All cancellations must be submitted through MyMercer and are subject to an administrative fee.

How do I renew my contract for the next academic year and summer and when will my contract end?

During the month of February there is a renewal process, look for the signs and check your Mercer emails frequently.  Contracts for two and four bedroom units will end 24 hours after your last final exam.  Since the contract for English Language Institute(ELI) students end upon completion of the program renewals are not necessary unless after completion of the program the student will be entering into an academic program on the Atlanta campus.

If I contract for a summer extension do I have to move out?

NO! A summer extension makes your contract continuous, however if you contract for a different space, you will remain in your current space until you are notified that the new space has become available.

Does the University Apartments close during Christmas break or other Holidays?

NO. The University Apartments do not close for Christmas or any other Holiday break, although the University observes several Holidays throughout the year and closes; these holidays are reflected on the academic calendar.  You do not have to move-out unless your contract has ended, in which you are graduating or not attending classes for the next semester. The official move-out date for fall graduates, transfers, withdrawals and the likes is the Friday after final exams (December 16th), if you are not returning for Spring 2016; you are required to move out by this date.

Who do I contact when the Housing office is closed?

There is a Graduate Hall Director (GHD) and four Resident Assistants (RAs) who reside in the University Apartments that can assist when the Residence Life office is closed. The monthly “Duty Schedule”, which includes contact information, is posted in every floor of every building on the bulletin boards. For emergencies, please contact Mercer Police (MERPO) 678.547.6358.

Does Mercer University allow pets?

The University permits Service/Therapy Animals only, which must be approved by ACCESS and Accommodations prior to move-in.  We strongly suggest before completing a contract to contact ACCESS and Accommodations.

I want to explore off-campus options?

The Mercer-Atlanta Off-Campus Housing Information website is provided as a public service by the Residence Life Office. Please note that while the university provides information for students about housing, the university has no affiliation with any property and does not make any specific recommendations for such. Most of the links listed are third-party information. It is up to individual students to check these resources throughly.  Off-Campus Housing Blog
